Socialist Venezuela Just Ran out of Gasoline

The hits keep coming in Venezuela.  In my opinion, the only thing keeping Civil War from breaking out is the lack of weapons owned by the general population.

Looks like they just ran out of electricity.
"If you can imagine what an EMP attack would be like, this is it.  The phones don't work.  The ATMs and banks don't work, so there is no access to money.  The internet doesn't work.  The refrigerators don't work, so the food is spoiling.  The subways don't work, so there is no going to one's job.  The generators are failing at hospitals as staff struggle to keep them going and the patients are already dying.  The preemies are losing their incubators.  Nobody can get the doctors on the phone.  The transport isn't working, and food is running out.  The water isn't working, no water from the faucet, too bad if you get thirsty.  The schools are all closed.  And much of the staff with the expertise to fix the system have fled the country, while the money that could be used to hire someone from the U.S. or someplace similar to make the repairs has been stolen."

It doesn't matter if the ATM's and banks aren't functional.  The money lost all value a while ago.  I thought the food was gone too, so loss of refrigerators doesn't matter either.  AOC and her kind would point these out as flaws in the bloggers' logic, not socialism.

This is the first week I heard a different story - that all this "fear-mongering" from the fleeing refugees and the West is just propaganda.  Two stories I heard claimed that all of Venezuela loved their leader and no one was going hungry.  It was some meat head in England and some US guy.  Unbelievable.  I don't remember how long ago - a couple years at least, but the first I heard of Venezuela's demise was after seeing a video of a small group of people chasing after a cow.  I watched it, wrongly thinking that someone needs to teach these punks a lesson, torturing a poor cow that way.  Then the video finishes when they caught the cow and 100+ people swarmed the poor thing and ripped the flesh off him/her with their bare hands just for a handful to eat.  I've never seen that kind of hunger before or since.  Heartbreaking and so needless.  The field was so lush and green too.  No drought, just stupid, stupid politics and followers.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

No end in sight for the 4 day blackout.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/11/world/americas/venzuela-blackout-maduro.html

Sunday was the fourth day since Venezuela’s power system went down, plunging most of the country, including Caracas, the capital, into sporadic darkness and dampening hopes of imminent resolution to a devastating blackout that has brought the country to the verge of social implosion.

“We’re going to arrive at a moment when we’re going to eat each other,” said Zuly González, 40, a resident of Caracas’s Chacao neighborhood.

Now without electricity water is next on the list.  We all talk about being prepared.  This may be coming our way one day.

"Caracas is 900m above sea level and water comes from a system of reservoirs and pumping stations below that depend on a reliable electric supply"

like much of what we do, that sounds unsustainable

Here's some good information about what's going on: it's pretty much just about everything that we prep for.
“Our country demands all our strength, all our energies. To resist the powerful combination now forming against us will require every man at his place.
If victorious, we will have everything to hope for in the future. If defeated, nothing will be left for us to live for.”

Yep and unfortunately despite the road map given to us by Venezuela, our government continues to drive in the same direction. Its sad that this may be our fate in the near future.
