EASY Apple Butter
« on: February 13, 2018, 05:51:57 PM »
From - "Paleo Apple Butter"  (not sure this qualifies for "Paleo", but whatever, it should be called "Foolproof")

You can print from there, but I'll copy it in here as well:

Paleo Apple Butter

10 minutes prep
14 hours cooking time (could do this afternoon/overnight on a weekend)
40 servings (no clue what serving size is there or how many pints it makes)

6 apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
Tbsp. vanilla extract
⅔ cup honey
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
tsp. ground cloves

Step 1

Place apples and vanilla extract in a 4-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

Step 2

Mash apples with a fork. Stir in honey, cinnamon, and cloves.

Step 3

Cover and cook on low for 6 hours. Allow to cool at room temperature, or in refrigerator for 2 hours. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Can be added to other recipes for dessert, baked goods, and even beverages or as a condiment/spread.

The vanilla sounds like it would be good but that's way too much honey for me.  I usually don't put any sweetener in mine.
