Having problems programming my radios.....

I am having problems working with CHIRP... my computer seems to batcrap crazy when I try to start the software up.... can anyone recommend a fix... or better yet... help me get this problem fixed.... and as a last resort... reprogram my radios for me???

Is it your 2M radio? Did you have a cd/dvd and programming cable that came with the radio?

Almost all Prolific cables are counterfeit garbage. The tendency is that they work once, and windows flags them and silently disables them, meaning they'll never work on that computer again without a lot of annoyingly complex futzing.

The fix in this case is to get an FTDI cable. For short term, you can use a prolific on another computer. Once probably.

I had the same issue. Got a non-Prolific cable and the problem is gone.
