Canned Fruit Recipes from Taste of Home

Good collection of recipes using mostly canned pineapple or in some cases, canned mandarin oranges on the Taste of Home website.
This includes all kinds of dishes including salads, meat/seafood main dishes, and desserts.  Some would be just as good without fruit,
but the fruit often adds sweetness and/or acidity to improve the taste.

I've been curious lately about canned fruit in syrup - if you can rinse it off in a strainer to eliminate added sugar. Anyone tried that?

Yes not a problem.  Fruit will probably absorb some of the sugar but most you can rinse off or save the juice for something else.

Some stores carry fruit in juice instead of syrup too.  I get some fruit cocktail like that from Kroger, and I think I have seen similar things on Walmart's app.
