Again, this year’s Hamfest theme focus being Emergency Communication and Preparedness with a very heavy emphasis on ARES, CERT, and RACES groups as well as the radio communications with hospitals and other emergency support partners.
Last year our very successful “Go-Box Contest” gave ideas and practical applications of using your ham radios in an environment outside your home. We’re adding the topics of “Hams helping Hams”. Teaching our new hobbyist how important it is to work with each other, encouraging erecting antennas, running coax, and setting up their shack.

OK I'll say it.....the HAMFEST was a flop.....at least to me.... if you weren't buying high dollar big ticket items the vendors wouldn't even talk to you. HRO were the absolute rudest.....I stood there for 10 minutes and the guys wouldn't even acknowledge that I was there. They only talked to folks standing in front of them not folks looking at their wares. When asked some vendors a question they didn't have time unless it was a high dollar item. That is BS! So much for being friendly...... There is a lot more but I think I have covered the most of it.

Sorry to hear it.

I didn't get up into the main hall much. I didn't even make it out to the boneyard a whole lot - I walked out there to a dozen tables or so and thought "I'm shopped out"

I had nothing but positive feedback on my little corner of the world - had some vendors have to leave on Saturday because they got sold out - and had lots of positive comments about the club, and (blush) even a few about the job I did, which makes me want to do even better.
