Sun Belt Expo Oct 17, 18 & 19
« on: October 16, 2017, 05:12:26 PM »
It is my understanding they will have some of everything made relating to farming.  I am going to see.  I am interested innew equipment like 1850s equipment.  Mule powered plow, disc, planter, ect.  Probably won't find anything.  Also a solar supplier from town will have a booth.  I can get a look at his stuff and do not have to tell him I live 8 miles from his house.  I don't need anything but am always interested in anything solar.

Sorry.  It is so widely known in farm country.  Moultrie Ga.  It is for farmers.  Farmers go to church on Sunday.  Farmers are free to go and do anything they want during the week.  They are self employed.  Again, sorry.

Not everyone lives south of Columbus, but rest assured farming is alive and well up here near Columbus too.

Looks interesting!

Seems like I've seen mentions of this in years past, but never in time to make plans.

Hopefully I'll hear about it sooner next year!

BountyHunter,  Next time I go camping at Roosevelt, I will send you a PM.  If I remember.

Lilburner,  I am taking my camera.  If I see anything interesting I can then give a report.

Well,  I have survived a day at the Sunbelt Expo.  I am so tired I don't even feel like posting.  There was one company there that had hand tools made for farming.  Looking at them, they looked well made.  I found their web page and will link it below.  I have an old antique push plow.  They have brand new ones that look even better.  I have an antique walk behind seed planter, one wheel.  They have a nice looking two wheel model.  On their web page they have several videos of their equipment.  I did not see all of the small hand tools on the web page.  Maybe I just have not explored enough yet.  The only down side I see is  $$$ Price.  They are not giving them away.

I bought two bottles of Salsa seasoning mix, mild.  It is packaged for Gem-Tex, Inc. Florence, Al. 35630.  It takes 2 table spoons of the seasoning mix to a 14.5 oz diced tomatoes.  Onr jar is supposed to make 20 gal of Salsa.  I asked the guy selling it what the shelf life was.  He said 5 years.  I figure if I put it in a zip lock bag and throw it in the freezer that I can extend that a bit.

See jars on left with green label.  That's what I got.

My wife (the fabulous cook) found AmysDips.  They had many packages of spices used to make dip for your favorite chip or veggie stick.  So we now have 5 packs of dip mix, "Garlic Bread", "Bloom-ing-onion", "Sweet Sweet Maui Onion", "Ranch O Cajun" and "Spinach".

We really did not have to buy anything to eat while there.  There were vendors all over giving out free product tasting.  The most filling was a Peanut Growers Assn. that was grilling peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and were handing out sandwich halves.

There were companies there with all kinds of bee hives, tools and things to feed bees.  I ran into Allen "The Bee Man" from Dalton, Ga.  He said he had 150 bee hives.  You should see all the honey he had there.  I got a 16oz. jar of GallBerry Honey.  He offeref a taste before you bought.  Very interesting person.  If you have a question or problem with bees you might want to call and talk to Allen 706-275-0381.
