“It is sobering to reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence.”--Charles A. Beard
I catch greef for not owning and AR. Yes, they are nice, light, an easy to fire, but they are also in danger of making you a felon when they get banned. They are effective against humans, but not so much game animals. I prefer something chambered in a hunting round like 270, 30-06, 308, 7mm, etc. Mostly non-military rounds. 308 is mostly used for hunting in the USA and 30-06 is not used by military's anymore. These pack quite a punch at a long distance. If you prep for being in a fire fight at your house with AR's you have already lost.
Back on topic. If I had to start over, I'd still go with a 10/22. (poor mans assault rifle) What other .22 has 25 or event 50 round mags?
