The Numbers Just Keep Getting Worse

57% of Americans could not afford a $1,000.00 emergency expense…. When you just ask Gen Zers and millennials that number goes up dramatically.  Peoples credit cards are maxed out, interest rates on the cards is at an all time high with the National average over 19%, and the cost of food just keeps getting crazier!  Crime is going up and people are going to start getting More desperate as their struggle to survive.  I’ve said it many times, it’s going to get worse before it gets Much worse.  Keep filling those holes in your preps and pray for our nation.  God will listen to the prayers of his true believers but those that have forsaken him are truly in for a rough ride.

Soo let's take this a step further.  I have been playing this out in my mind for sometime now.  Could "they", referring to the dark side that is trying to destroy our lifestyle (referring to the 50's with healthy food.)? Are they releasing infected birds into the environment?  Do "they" want us to eat bugs as a protein replacement bad enough to go to this extreme?  I saw a dead goose on our lake today and nearly wet my pants (sorry).  Did I call the conservation department?  What do you think?
I suppose they could add something to all layer food and end it completely.  I have never felt so suspicious and on guard in my life.

Absolutely Nothing is off the table for TPTB right now.  People that don’t think the government is capable of committing such atrocities against Americans are either stupid, naive or haven’t followed history, or probably all three.  There s nothing they won’t do for power and control…. Tik Tok Tik Tok Tik Tok………..

Now they are decreasing the amount of food stamp money people get…. Yea that’s not going to make desperate people crazier!  It’s almost like this is by design🤔🤔😳😳🤔🤔…

Everybody with a yard needs to plow it up and grow food. God give me strength to rebuild my garden area and keep on keeping on. 🙏😢
Younger folks please help your elders.

Ravenwood, work smart, used raised beds.  You can grow an amazing amount of food in them. We got ours from Northern Tool.  If you become a member you get free shipping.  They are easy to assemble.  I just ordered two more to form a short path to the greenhouse.  They will be  be filled with medicinal herbs.
We bought Big Yellow bags of soil and it helped with production.  Yes, it all costs money, more than what we would like to spend, but what is fresh food worth?  We can't trust what we are eating if we don't grow it ourselves.
Gardening will keep us stronger, as will the additional vitamins in the food.  We can do this.  Buy good quality seeds!  Since this is a southern site, I suggest you explore Southern Exposure Seed.  I didn't do well with Heavenly Seed, out of S.C. a few years ago, I tried them when seeds were tight.  Johnny's is good, but pricey and have cut back on the number of seeds per packet.  They do disclose this.  I use some Bakers Seed out of Missouri.  Whatever your choices, if it works, stick with it. Good Luck everyone!

Great advice Abigayle!  We put in 10 raised beds last year and production was way up and weeding was way down.  Don’t look at it as a cost but an investment!  The older we get the smarter we have to work!  Best investment I made last year!

More “Doom Porn” on the global food situation, shortages and outlook.  Like I’ve been saying for quite awhile yet, “It’s going to get worse before it gets much worse!”  Think back to last year, as bad as it was then it’s much worse today.  Think ahead 6 months from now and ask yourself, “is it going to be better or worse?”…. If you said better please PM me so I can give you my address so you can send me some of that “stuff” you’re smoking!😎🤦‍♂️😜…

Even though we prepare for the worse, there is so much beyond our control. This is not a new story to regular readers, but this winter, I planted lots of tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumber and lettuce in my greenhouse.  I had to just about walk sideways through the maze.  I felt so smug, knowing we had fresh, good tasting produce each day.  None of it tasted like greenhouse stuff.  Then we got the freeze. So, since we still had power, we ran three heaters so we would not sacrifice all that ripe food to the weather.  During the night, we lost power.  It was off for five hours, while we slept.  Everything was ruined.  Even the onions in the garden, along with cold weather greens and kale kicked the dust.
Soo we can work our butts off, spend a lot of money on good seed and still get the short end of the stick.  What I am leading to, with this lengthy soliloquy, is the currently lack of control we possess over our our little worlds.  If hens won't lay and bugs along with frost in May, kills off our gardens, we are left with what we have from the year before.  If we are lucky, we over-pre-pared.  Not everyone can do that.  Big families go through a boat load of food each month.  Retired people are on a fixed income and all expenses are going up.  I am not watching Joe tonight.  I don't need some liar to tell me that this world is in great shape.  My neighbor bought a new water heater.  Lowe's wanted twice the price of the unit to install it.  This was not a tricky job.  Things seem to happen in threes.  No heat? non are? no hot water?  Where did the food money go....where did the food go?  Very real, very depressing.  I just hope we can control our own little patches of green earth and protect it.
