The generations aren't different. Old people always think young people are dumb, young people always think old people are crochety and stuck in their ways.
All the stories I hear from my kids, my parents, and my grandparents are ultimately the same stuff my peers do. The only difference is generational cultural identity and everything is online now.

^this article is both funny, and correct.

My favorite is the, ~"back in my day, we played outside," from 200 years ago:
“A pernicious excitement to learn and play chess has spread all over the country, and numerous clubs for practicing this game have been formed in cities and villages…chess is a mere amusement of a very inferior character, which robs the mind of valuable time that might be devoted to nobler acquirements … they require out-door exercises–not this sort of mental gladiatorship.”

O.K. Surveyor 1, I'll bite.  What was my trigger? statement???  I am guessing it might be that young people would learn to butcher.  I know it is tough to do with a cell phone in one hand, but not all teens are alike.  So hard workers do move among them.  Maybe that was not the trigger, do tell...

Lol Abigayle it wasn’t the butcher statement, that was actually great advice for any teen growing up!  I just don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea and think that you and Fixit were making fun of non-preppers using the term “TWERPS”!  Personally I thought that it was a great acronym and have incorporated it into my vocabulary!  Just like I incorporated your term and definition of “Snap-Chat”. That was creative and hilarious!!

CRPL Hood, "We are going to hell in a hand basket".  Difference is that hell is now coming to visit us.  I.M.H.O. the generations are different.  We really babied the last two.  My generation was given a lot of stuff because our parents didn't have it.  In return, they were somewhat of aa "me" generation; wanting gratification through material stuff they only dreamed about.
When you see thugs on the street, killing strangers for no reason, can you relate to that?  I bet not.  The major cities run by liberals have become a breeding ground for those without morals.  Sure, there are lots of good kids out there, but they are over-shadowed by the kind that keep us up at night
I thought kids with behavioral disorders and learning disabilities.  They were pretty good kids, sure  there is always a standout.  By todays standards they were pretty innocent.  I taught Boys Town for a period of time to get my specialist degree.  These were what was thought at the time to be the toughest in the school system.  By today's standards they were pretty good kids. Some parents want teachers to parent, until things go wrong. I wanted to teach the basics, not sex education, not my job.  I would not make it in the classroom today, with pronouns applied to children.  Like they say "Not my monkeys not my circus.."

I would Love to quote George Carlin but the moderators would probably flag it so I will paraphrase…

“Just look around at what would be considered the average intellect and realize that half of these people are below that line”.  I really really cleaned up his language but think about your daily interactions.  If yo deal with people on a daily basis that has “average” intellect there are just as many really stupid people out there!  Don’t hate the messenger read the message and think about the people you deal with on a daily basis…

O.K. can't resist this one, Surveyor, It's "people who have an average intelligence, not "people was has and average intelligence", just saying :)

Good catch Benny, it was a typing error, I never proof read.  Had to pick on Surveyor though...  Just think of President Trumps' grammar.  Would pick him over Brandon anyway.  Do like DeSantis a whole lot.  Off track, off track...

Lol. My mother has a masters degree in English. I grew up with daily corrections. I just thank my stars that she didn’t have a degree in math.

I really like DeSantis too.

You can take the teacher out of the classroom but you cannot take the classroom out of the teacher!  BennyMG1 said he was glad his mother didn’t have a degree in math…. Holy hebejebezze can anyone imagine how this post would be going if Abigayle had been a sex education teacher!!!  I can promise you right now she would give a whole new definition of “animal husbandry”😳😳😳…”

Oh yea picking on me, quoting me and screwing all of it up!!!  You are such a “Thor’s Wife”!!!  I remember when he sent me the private message that got me in major trouble with my wife!  Thor said “trust me I’ve been married much longer than you and I can tell you that women really like it when you say things in rhyme!”  Me being the dumbass that I am said, “like what?”  Well your Thor responded with “My wife’s favorite is “Less Bitchen More Kitchen” said you thought it was cute”…. Well thanks for me losing 14 lbs!  He obviously thinks he’s funnier than I (see correct grammar)….  ❤️❤️❤️ Abigayle 😎

Benny, my son just reminded me the other day, that I would correct the letters the boys sent me from camp, in red ink and return them with my letters.  I know that today, you are grateful for her corrections.
Surveyor, did you thank Thor for your weight loss?  You should show some appreciation.  Good thing he did not send a rhyme that would have resulted in hair loss.
I taught at a traditional school, where we only taught the basics, P.E. art  and music Were taught by the specials teachers.  Today, this would be referred to as a Charter School.  Yes, I was actually hand picked to teach there, no one could be assigned to the school.  Teachers even had a dress code, along with the students.  We had a behavior code, a homework code and parents had to sign the homework.
I am going to completely ignore your last comment.  I know you can not help yourself.
