2024 Spring Camp out

Is there any interest in having a spring camp out? If so. I'm thinking  3-5 May at Cedar Creek WMA. Let me know what you think.

I got thinking that some new people would not know where to go.

The Annual Spring Camp out - May 03-05 at Cedar Creek WMA. If you wish to arrive on Thursday the 5th, you'll have plenty of company for the extra day. If you can't can't camp with us, come down for the day. Most planned activities will be concentrated on Saturday.

Cedar Creek is located south of Monticello on GA Hwy 212. Our camp site is across from the Check Station (N 30* 13' 45.1 W 83* 31' 36.1) on Checking Station Road. If Googling, google Cedar Creek Check Station or you might get directions to the range which is a different road off 212.

Specifically, here: https://goo.gl/maps/jKXeHv1JbKm The campground is on the opposite side of the gravel road from the Checking Station on the map, and just a hair BEFORE it. The path into the woods is subtle and some would say hard to see, but accommodates the largest of RVs. If you drive fully up TO the Checking Station, you've gone too far. HOPEFULLY there will be a yellow banner out by Thursday afternoon marking the turn.

Start picking out your auction item donations! The Saturday evening donation auction is a highlight of the event and our only source of income, and everything goes back in to SEPN 100%. It pays for the domain and the website.

No camping fee: SEPN is picking up the bill for Port-A-Potties this year. No GORP/WMA pass is required at this site

I think it is still a bit early for some people to commit to the campout. I know I have talked to a couple of people who told me they plan to attend, but I have not seen them post here. I would say that we do need the port-a-potties. Over the years I have heard many people at the campout say that the port-a-potties was one of the key issues in their decision to attend. While a bucket potty will work in an emergency, it is a step too far for a lot of people, especially the day trippers.

I plan on coming as does my son, so that is 4 plus a few more if those I spoke with show up.

Porta Potties are not needed by me as my camper is self contained.  That said;  I have 2 conflicts for that weekend and may not be able to attend.

This is depressing! It looks like no one is planning to attend the Camp out. I need to know if you plan to attend.

I have discarded one conflict and am working to resolve the second.  I hope to be there also.  Just now pondering what to bring for the auction.
