General Prepping Discussion / Re: Helene Making Storm Preparations« Last post by RWS on September 26, 2024, 10:21:44 AM »I made the trip to town during a lul in the rain and got the electrical connectors I would need to put my power line back together. On the way to town my phone rang. It was my Dr's office just checking up on me and did I need any prescriptions to get me thru the next week or so. I guess they are doing storm preps and planning on being closed tomorrow thru the weekend. Went by the bank and told them I was doing storm preps and could I get some cash to tide me thru in case they were closed for a few days. So now back home for the duration.
PS: The wife has a crock pot on with a big roast beef, carrots and onions. We can make microwave plates out of that for several days. She also made a blueberry crunch. While the oven was going I asked her to bake a batch of corn bread muffins, which she did. Now she is thawing out butter beans. Seems she found a ham bone in the freezer to go with beans and corn bread. I don't think we will go hungry.... 93
General Prepping Discussion / Helene Making Storm Preparations« Last post by RWS on September 26, 2024, 05:55:11 AM »Yesterday we took the vehicles and topped off the fuel tanks. Today I plan to put an eye ball on the necessary material (Electrical connectors) that I will need to rebuild the power line that goes between the house and the shop. This is an overhead #2 power line that brings solar power directly to the house. I also have a small solar system at the house but it has been down for the last couple of months due to 8 year old batteries that are shot. I shut it down to get rid of a pending fire hazard. Most of my electrical supplies are in Region 2 due to construction there so I most likely will be going to the supply house today.
Make your preps as this could be bad. Bad not only for a day but maybe a week. 94

Medical/First Aid/Health / What is an Aerocort inhaler used for? - Genericcures.com« Last post by Shirleysmith on September 19, 2024, 05:10:40 AM »An Aerocort inhaler is primarily used for the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It contains a combination of two active ingredients: budesonide, a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation in the airways, and formoterol, a long-acting beta-agonist that relaxes the muscles around the airways, making it easier to breathe. By addressing both the underlying inflammation and the bronchoconstriction associated with these respiratory conditions, Aerocort provides relief from symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. It is typically prescribed for patients who require regular maintenance therapy to control their asthma or COPD symptoms and to prevent exacerbations.
In addition to its therapeutic benefits, the use of a Cipla Aerocort Inhaler requires proper technique to ensure effective delivery of the medication to the lungs. Patients are often instructed on how to use the inhaler correctly, including shaking it before use and inhaling deeply while pressing down on the canister. Regular follow-up with a healthcare provider is essential to monitor the patient’s condition and adjust the dosage as needed. It is important to note that while Aerocort can be effective in managing symptoms, it is not intended for the immediate relief of acute asthma attacks; a rescue inhaler, such as one containing albuterol, is typically recommended for such situations. 98
