Mark your calendars.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
The 2022 Annual Spring Camp out - May 12 - May 15 at Cedar Creek WMA. If you wish to arrive on Thursday the 12th, you'll have plenty of company for the extra day. If you can't camp with us, come down for the day. Most planned activities will be concentrated on Saturday.
Cedar Creek is located south of Monticello on GA Hwy 212. Our camp site is across from the Check Station (N 30* 13' 45.1 W 83* 31' 36.1) on Checking Station Road. If Googling, google Cedar Creek Check Station or you might get directions to the range which is a different road off 212.
Specifically, here: https://goo.gl/maps/jKXeHv1JbKm The campground is on the opposite side of the gravel road from the Checking Station on the map, and just a hair BEFORE it. The path into the woods is subtle and some would say hard to see, but accommodates the largest of RVs. If you drive fully up TO the Checking Station, you've gone too far. HOPEFULLY there will be a yellow banner out by Thursday afternoon marking the turn.
Start picking out your auction item donations! The Saturday evening donation auction is a highlight of the event and our only source of income, and everything goes back in to SEPN 100%. It pays for the domain and the website. Last 2 years we were able to subsidize the Christmas party for all attendees, and this year there's even more. specifically...
No camping fee: SEPN is picking up the bill for Port-A-Potties this year. No GORP/WMA pass is required at this site
Activities: No classes or formal events planned yet. Hopefully that will change before the event.

Either I did a great job of picking dates or nobody coming. I need some feed back, and help with classes would be great.
-
If anyone is up for another seed saving class in these trying times, I'll do one. I'll be day tripping.
-
I’ll be there barring any unforeseen circumstances.
-
I should make it
-
We plan to be there. Barring any last-minute crisis, there will probably be four of us. Looking forward to seeing everyone again!
-
I hope to be going.
-
I put it on my calendar. I should have a lot going on then with construction and all. I hope I can make it....
-
I am going to try to be at this one.
-
I am going to try hard to come. I am thinking of renting a cargo van to camp in.

I’ve added it to my calendar. No guarantees this far out though. We will be just finished up on completing construction. Of the new distribution center and I don’t know how busy we are going to be just yet. Will have a better feel in late March or early April as to what that weekend will look like.
Just fyi, one thing to note is that campground may be pretty full that weekend. It’s the last weekend of Turkey season on that WMA (and for the state of GA). Cedar Creek WMA Turkey season runs Apr 9-May 15. I hope to have bagged both my turkeys by then. If not, I may actually come down on Tuesday or Wednesday that week and make a full week out of it if I can coordinate with work.

What you you think about a flea market at the camp out?
-
I’ll be there with some guests hopefully. I love the flea market idea!
-
I'm not seeing the normal interest we have in the camp out. I would like to get an idea of how many plan on being there.
-
Unless any unforeseen issues 2 of us will be attending. Planning on arriving Tuesday but will update as time gets near.
-
tuesday? early bird
I'm still planning on making it
-
We still plan to be there. There should be 4 of us.
-
I'll probably be there, barring unforeseen circumstances. Possibly with a guest in tow.
-
Don't know if I can make it, but would give it a super extra effort if Starlady does her seed saving class. That I'd really like to learn more about.
-
We'll try but things are so crazy here I don't know if we'll make it.
-
If there's interest, I'm willing to set up a "Bug Out Bag Shakeout".
It would essentially work like this:
1) Bring your BOB
2) We go for a two mile hike
3) Return to camp and then lay out the contents of your BOB and decide what's actually worth carrying
4) Remove what you've decided was not needed
5) Test out your now-lighter BOB with another one mile hike
Also, I will be doing the obligatory ham radio demo. There'll be a slight twist to it this year.

Thanks Country Singer! Can you also bring your programming cable for Baofang and a “cheat sheet” for frequencies to monitor in a SHTF scenario? It would be nice to know how to listen out for “friends” that may be close by! Thanks!

Sure can!

I need a little help. Is anybody planning on being at the camp site midday Thursday? The porta potties are being delivered by a new company and it would be nice to have a POC there. let me know if you can help.
-
I’ll be there. Doody duty?
-
Thanks! you won't be alone.
-
It looks like we'll have to miss this camp out too. We've been sick for the past week and are just getting better. With us being out of it for so long we'll have to stick closet to home to help the in-laws for the next couple of weekends.
-
weather looks ok
not too hot and not a wash out
just some passing storms
-
I am tied up Thursday but may manage to wiggle free by Friday. I will try to make it.
-
I hope to leave around lunch time tomorrow, but I might be reduced to just a day trip saturday
-
My Thursday schedule has been postponed due to material availability. I am cleaning out the camper and restocking this afternoon. Plan to arrive tomorrow afternoon.
-
Enjoy the weekend! Your former Region 3 North miss you all. Cavediverbob and Tipigirl.
P.S. If you ever get to central Kentucky give us a shout.
