At this point, Thor and I will do our best to be there. God willing and the Creek don't rise. I never knew that this was a reference to the Creek Indians and not water.

Thanks to Farside for continuing to follow up and getting the room!
Sorry - my own personal form of of spotty OCD made me move it out of the for sale category. Hopefully this will bump it to the top.

We are planning on coming. Don't know yet what food we will be bringing. That is the wife's department. I am starting to get up seed to bring for the seed exchange if it is still on. Going to Panola Mountain State Park takes us right by Scarlet Thread which is a mandatory stop for us.
This looks good ?

I wanted to come to this but I will be celebrating my 31 years of recovery on that day. One of these days I will make it.
-
Congratulations!
-
Gonna put in my request today, see if I get lucky.
-
I got an idea for the summer get together ! It is always trouble when I think up something, but I don't mind. I'm used to it.
I could bring a stack of small paper cups and several bottles of tonic water. Then others bring their favorite fruit juice. Then we could all taste the various combinations of fruit juice and tonic water to see which one we liked best. This would be a continuous activity prior to lunch.
Then after lunch we could do the seed exchange as everyone would be there by then.
What think ye ?
-
We're coming! Who want's aloes? I also have a fennel plant if you still want it Starlady.
-
Yes, Please! Fennel and as many aloe as you want to get rid of. I'd like to harvest most of the 2 you gave me a few years ago for my Christmas soap & lotion making. Finally found their sweet spot in the house, they got huuuuuuge and one is making babies but it's too small to harvest yet.
RWS, I'd like a sweet shrub, too, if you have enough. You can just bring the blueberries to the lunch, too, if that's more convenient for you.
I have 3 elderberry (and 2 in reserve for bennymg1), 2 rosemary, and a boatload of spear or chocolate mints.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Much more convenient and I had planned to. I have a sweet shrub potted for Ravenwood1959 and TLWAGG. I have more out there. I will dig one up the morning of the 25th for you. If it lives this time of year, good. If it dies then I will pot you up one this winter when they are dormant as I had some new ones come up around from where I dug up the other two.

what is a sweet shrub?

Darn it! I'm scheduled to be picking up my Air Force Grandbeans that day in Virginia. If that changes then I oughtta be there.
-
So, I count 12?
Me, Lilburner, Farside, Florida44 & Chief, tlwagg & 2, Abigayle & Thor, RWS & wife.
Elandil and 8GB as possibles.
I need to know how many eggs to make, lol.
-
I always get left out. Starlady add 2 for RWS & wife. We will bring that 4th of July dip I put the link to earlier and a blueberry delight. I also want to set up a tonic water tasting station with various flavors of fruit juice.
-
I'm sorry!
-
I'm sorry!
No problem. I plan to come whether or not my name is on the list. I need to get rid of some blueberries and don't want to miss a seed exchange.
-
I forgot to ask if we are going to use social distance? Thor and I are still being very careful. We still want to be able to visit... Thoughts everyone????
-
I hope we are, I'll have a mask off and on depending on what we're doing and will pass on the hugs this time around.
Handshakes/holds are fine, we can sanitize, lol!
-
There may me 4 of us coming! My son needs to see if he has the time.
-
We are not sure we will make it. I have my 2 little cousins visiting me from Warner Robins this week and we need to take them home on Saturday. If we can get out early enough we might make it just not sure as there was a ton of construction traffic down that way last week, it took us 4 hours to make a 2 hour trip.
-
Will definitely be in VA.
-
You will be missed, safe travels.... all you Beans...
I think I am bringing a yellow squash, stuffing, bacon, sour cream casserole. Will it be inside the room we had for the Christmas party?
-
I'll be bringing drinks as always, but bottled drinks due to anticipated light turnout and less communal handling.
There was some talk of providing individual condiment packets, but it proved to be unfeasible. Hand sanitizer at the end of the food line looks to be the better bet.
Can anyone share a "pump" style sanitizer? I'm happy to share mine, but it's unwieldy in "liquor" bottles and too liquid so you wind up pouring it all over everywhere.
I understand one member is bringing me some Clorox/Lysol wipes that I've been in short supply of, and I'm happy to share.
Any other safety concerns we should address?
-
Hubby just had tooth extracted and tomorrow he will have the implant so he's a maybe.
-
I've made a bunch of hand sanitizer, I can bring a 16 oz pump bottle of it. It's almost 70% alcohol, so it'll work.
-
This will be our first outing in a very long time and we are really looking forward to it, even though we will have to be social distancing. No choice in the matter. Sorry it will be a very small group, but happy to re-connect with those who are going..Had we known, at the Christmas party, that this would be happening into July, we could have stayed longer, like partied into the night.
-
The wife & I are planning to come. We plan to stop and see Ravenwood1950 and drop off a sweet shrub, then visit Magical Stitches but still plan to be there early. Early to set up an appetizer table and Tonic Water tasting station. We will also have a table set up with a door prize. Does it sound like we want to unload some blueberries??
Appetizer is https://www.kroger.com/r/4th-of-july-taco-dip-recipe/5ae235b684aeb69277893a99
-
Keep mine away from the hordes!
-
RWS, we would be happy to get some blueberries. I have some in the freezer, but not nearly enough...
-
Coke, Coke Zero, lemonade, Sprite, orange Gatorade and water on ice. Should satisfy most tastes.
-
I will really miss not seeing everyone. :(
But I am fearful of contact with anyone these days and worry that if I got sick there is no one to take over my responsibilities. My heart will be there with you!
Ravenwood
-
We might be able to make it after all.
-

Something to put in a new freezer ??
-
Yes, we have room now!
-
Yes, we will be able to make it. Sorry for the late response. I had a project get re-scheduled at the last minute, and can actually get away for the day!
-
Dose this building run hot of cold? I'm just wondering if I need pants or shorts.
-
EVERY single time we've met here, google maps/construction/accidents have conspired to make it not just a 90 minute trip. Today was the winner - took me 3 HOURS! Construction, an accident and a guy who wanted to jump off a downtown bridge onto I-20. Took 90 minutes to get home, lol.
But oh, it was so worth it to see the few brave souls who ventured out! The tlwaggs, Abigayle & Thor (for a minute, but dude, I understand), Mr & Mrs. Hobbit, Farside, our own Jolly Giant, the benevolent and awesomely generous Farmer RWS & Mrs. Hope I didn't miss anyone......and THEN we were surprised when even Stvr showed up!
The food was just average...…..for US, LOL, which means fantastic and more than plentiful. Lots of take home for anyone who wanted it.
Aloe & blueberries galore, comfrey seeds (COMFREY!!!!! - been trying to get it going for 3 years), fennel, 3-or was it 4?-kinds of bean and corn seeds, sweet shrub and some other neat stuff of the type Lilburner & Farside usually put out but which I passed by because.. gasp....PLANTS!!!! and SEEDS!!! I almost cried from excitement on the way home because I have enough blueberries now to make a bit of jam for winter morning biscuits, or pancakes, or muffins. Thanks RWS!
We missed so many of you and we got thunderstormed on but it was so nice to seeeeeee people I know again!
Thanks to Farside and Lilburner for getting it all done...as usual!
-
I second Star Lady's well written thoughts. Mr. & Mrs. R.W.S., you're awesome.! We have already enjoyed some blueberry, walnut muffins today, thanks to your generosity and hard work Thanks, Liburner, for your organization and work. Wish we could have visited more and we were so looking forward to it, as we have not had any socialization in some time. We are grateful for the time we had. Hopefully, by Christmas, this thing will be behind us, but we just don't know. Great to get to put some faces that were new to me, together with names. R.W.S. our new freezer is happier today, thanks to you.
Anyone getting the Jimmy Nardello seeds...they are non-hybrid of course and very prolific. They are sweet, and will store well in thee freezer. The bugs don't like they much....just a little, which for GA., is a good thing. You can seed them and throw them on the grill with a little oil and spice, great side dish...bon apatite.
-
Not much to add but to second Starlady's completeness and to thank everyone who ventured out. It was so good to be amongst friends!
Between my prepper and ham radio friends, I've only seen two local friends in six months - and just briefly and out of necessity.
Fingers crossed for the Fall Campout!

Sorry I could not make this event... :(

It was great to see everyone again. We have a great group and I'm happy we had something worth sharing with everyone. Good friends, good food, a sweet shrub, blueberries, and seeds thank you to everyone that brought such great things to share. I takes so little to make us happy.;D I'm glad we made it, and I hope to see everyone at the fall campout.
