Solar powered Fridge freezer

I have played with this idea in the past, but the cost versus the benefit is hard to digest at this time.

In a nutshell this guy used a low wattage fridge/freezer combo, 2 solar panels, an inverter and change controller to power his fridge.  This is a neat trick and I may explore it again.
Couple of items of note. It appears the guy lives somewhere with a lot of sun based on the video.  The costs are still pretty high (see below my estimates based on what was described)

If you have the parts, it might be fun to throw together and see if it works.

Fridge Freezer     $150.00
1000 watt pure sinewave Inverter     $150.00 (low end)
Two 100 watt solar panels and charge controller    $290.00
Two marine deep cycle batteries.     $180.00
Total cost  $770.00
