The book is the latest edition of the original Survival Medicine FAQ's released to the internet in 1997. The 2nd edition was actually the first book, published in May 2005. It consisted of some 212 pages printed, and was also available as a free pdf version which remains available today through various mirror sites.
Now we have released the updated 3rd edition, which totals nearly 600 pages in print (January release) as another free pdf book. The author team once again represents 3 continents, comprising 2 docs, a PA, a biomedical engineer, a veterinarian, a Nurse Practitioner and a Paramedic/RN.
This is THE most advanced survival medicine book in existence. All of the authors have been there/done that. Some are even former military special operations types. There is information contained within that will not be found anywhere else.
