Interesting Article, another example of TPTB manipulating the flow of information.  We truly are living in 1984😳.

Everything on this web page is a shout piece leading to the end of civilization.

That's not inflation. If the dollar inflated as fast as lumber has, it would be hyperinflation and we'd be collapsing. Construction material price increases seem to be more of a lack of supply and high demand problem.

inflation is increasing the money supply, rising prices are a symptom of inflation

prices are going up since the covid money printing began
where is the lack of supply of lumber? the shelves were full there is no shortage
what about food and fuel?
cars, used cars, houses all cost more too

The bread index, 2% a year.. Approximate inflation

Gas, though less stable, is as bush era levels, instead of growing with inflation.

A blurb about lumber, but you can chase the sources

Natural gas beats inflation

Even crude beats the bush era.

There's more volatility in the markets compared to pre-90s, but markets are more agile and have more capacity in general.

Now beef, beef prices are screwed, but even that isn't inflation.

I don't understand, it was worse under bush, so this recent increase in prices is ok?

I know I'm spending more than I was last year.

Construction materials are up bc the housing market is swinging back up while hobby and home improvement lumber use is up as well. It will even out and come back down. I'm already seeing hobbyist bow out until prices come back down on the woodworking forums I'm in (though this is anecdotal), which makes me want to think the market is already correcting. Lumber shelves are full, but it appears lumber sales are down for home improvement as well do to the price barrier. Large scale lumber supply is trying to ramp up, and will almost definitely ramp too far. I bet by fall lumber prices will be at a 10-year low.
Here's for hoping.

NJ we are in the middle of a perfect storm from a financial standpoint.  It’s not just one area of our economy that is under direct inflationary pressure.  With .gov giving away so much money many many people are choosing to stay at home instead of actually putting in an honest days work.  Automation will replace many of these jobs out of necessity.  The people that are willing to work will demand higher wages causing prices to increase or simply closing their doors.  I see many businesses closing monthly and more and more people depending on .gov to sustain them.  When the EBT cards buy 25% less than a few months ago, people are going to start getting upset and that’s the last thing we need!  I may be wrong but I love history and I love stats and all signs are point to some major problems in the future.  I hope history and the stats are wrong but they seldom are...

Every day I see several of these articles about something going higher.  I just read an article about the Colonial Oil Pipeline.  Oh,  it goes thru Georgia?  Well it is shut down because of a cyber attack.  A shut down pipeline to me means shortages to come soon and higher prices come Monday morning.

How about chicken.  Talk about the perfect storm.

Colonial Pipeline is headquartered in Alpharetta GA.  They think they can have it back on by Friday.  Oil has been going up and will continue.

Janice Yellen is finally recognizing that the economy will be impacted by rapid inflation.  This is before the additional trillion-dollar give-aways to Democrat friends will do to the already high rising inflation.

News is saying tonight to expect meat and dairy to go up 10-15% this fall due to increased fuel prices.

I have been watching the current inflation chart on the link enclosed here for several months.  The chart is slow to load but is an eye opener.  Anyone who now says we don't have an inflation problem I say,  I have 100 acres of dry land in S. Florida I would like to sell you.
