cheap effective ant / pest control

I had little ants and carpenter ants off and on since spring, worse year for them yet
I sprayed the usually slop from home depot but they kept coming back and that stuff is expensive
I broad cast pellets, put out traps/bait nothing worked

I was about to give up and call an exterminator but gave this a try
it worked and cost less than a buck. I need to buy a few more bottles to have hand
I mixed the powder, put a couple tablespoons into small empty soda cans and drilled a couple holes to let ants in and keep the cat and dogs out
like he said in the video, it took a couple weeks but seems to be working

My right foot and I both hope this works on fire ants.  I used to get them in my raised bed, esp. if I had something covered.  The only thing I felt save using was there was boiling water and orange oil.  While the boiling water killed most of them, the orange oil just made them move to another spot.  With all the rain we are having, they are especially bad right now. Our neighbor suggested a new product (new to us).  If it works, I will post it.  First, I have to make sure it is safe for bees.
