Gulf of Mexico warm water and hurricanes
« on: July 30, 2023, 08:13:11 AM »
A friend is very concerned about having a really nasty hurricane season this year.    He pointed out that when the Gulf of Mexico water is warmer we have really bad hurricanes.      I did a bit of research online and it seems that he is right.

Water temperature readings around Florida show the ocean temperature is 101 degrees in a few areas.       Imagine that.    The ocean is hotter than some jacuzzies.

In my area (region 2) we lost electricity for 6 days after a hurricane about 6 years ago.        I mean all electricity so the local gas station pumps wouldn't work.      It would probably be a good idea to check your generators and fuel supplies.
