A friend is very concerned about having a really nasty hurricane season this year. He pointed out that when the Gulf of Mexico water is warmer we have really bad hurricanes. I did a bit of research online and it seems that he is right.
Water temperature readings around Florida show the ocean temperature is 101 degrees in a few areas. Imagine that. The ocean is hotter than some jacuzzies.
In my area (region 2) we lost electricity for 6 days after a hurricane about 6 years ago. I mean all electricity so the local gas station pumps wouldn't work. It would probably be a good idea to check your generators and fuel supplies.
