Hello to all SEPN Georgia and Georgia Region 6 members!
Boy!!—sure has been VERY HOT here in the Middle Georgia area-- and we still have some time to go before we start “cooling off” for the Fall season!! Hoping all are staying as cool as possible and very well hydrated! STILL QUITE ALOT of "happenings" going on all around us with multiple situations and events happening locally, nationally, and world-wide and that still appear to be changing and evolving rapidly---- so keep your heads “on a swivel” - and STAY VIGILANT!
We had our Region 6 July scheduled monthly meeting on the 26th. Attendance was surprisingly good for us at this meeting—especially being in the middle of summer and folks are in ” full swing” mode for vacations!
Our presentation topic for this meeting was “Various Methods of Food Preservation”
We had a total of 4 presenters from our “regulars” who brought OUTSTANDING examples of various methods, basic needed equipment to get started, and end-products of food preservation examples for water-bath canning, pressure canning, dehydrating, using vacuum- packing specialty bags like “Food Saver”-type and proper storage of food in Mylar bags --using oxygen absorbers!
We also had several You-Tube videos that were shown on our video monitor @ USS that explained each method in a bit more detail. SO many GREAT tips and experiences were exchanged and shared by all in attendance and --like with all of our past meeting topics; Great lessons and advice was learned by all! 😊 GREAT JOB GUYS AND GALS!!
I personally am looking forward to sharing all these tips and ideas with my wife when we plan to start putting food away for storage in the Fall!
And speaking of food…. we here in Region 6 also had our quarterly “potluck” luncheon at the conclusion of this meeting as well! And as ALWAYS--many GREAT COOKS and CHEFS defiantly can be found here in the Region 6 area!! All the food was OUTSTANDING –-and all the USS crew working the day of our meeting wanted me to definitely express their appreciation and gratitude for offering our “pot-luck” to them as well! --Thanks again to all who participated!
As I have mentioned in many past posts here concerning our Georgia Region 6 monthly meetings, we are so VERY BLESSED to have such GREAT active members and participants. All of our members are an “exceptional wealth of knowledge” and are “true experts” on a very wide variety of preparedness topics – BAR NONE! It's YOU--Region 6 members, that make our monthly meetings what they are! THANK-YOU!
We all have been TRULY BLESSED to have such a WONDERFUL place here at Uncle Sam’s Surplus to hold our monthly meetings!
