Georgia / SEPN Georgia Region 6 Meet for November 2025« Last post by VoodooMD on November 01, 2025, 04:10:37 AM »Hello to all SEPN Georgia and Georgia Region 6 members! Hoping all are doing well!! Well, -- Fall season is now in “full swing” here in Georgia and I, for one, am surely glad of it!! Hope that you all are enjoying the Fall season thus far with family and friends! STILL QUITE ALOT of "happenings" going on all around us locally, nationally, and world-wide and ALL still appear to be changing and evolving minute by minute--- so please, PLEASE still keep your heads “on a swivel” – and PLEASE STAY VIGILANT! We had our Georgia Region 6 scheduled monthly meeting on October 25th. Attendance was GREAT for us at this meeting as well!! 😊 Our presentation topic for this meeting was : “And This Is How I Store My Ammunition For Long And Short Term: What Am I Doing Right? What Am I Doing Wrong?--and How Can I Do Better?” I was the “Presenter-In -Chief” for this particular topic-- but I did have one other active member of our ‘Region 6 Crew” assist me with it as well!! 😊 Thanks so very much for your assistance to me l! I brought a few examples of how I store my “freedom seeds” for long and short term-- in both metal and plastic containers –and in assorted sizes for comparison. Also I brought along all of my equipment that I use to “recondition” metal containers for storage that I use to “bring them back up to specs” --for the “show and tell “part of this presentation. As with ALL of our meeting topics here in Region 6 so far—this one also proved to be a GREAT learning experience --not just for me—but for us all who attended and participated as well!! So great to hear what I was doing right, what I was doing wrong, and tips and ideas on what I could do and items that I could get to make it better!! 😊 Thanks again so very much to all and JOB WELL DONE!! Participation and input by all who attended was OUTSTANDING, GREAT questions were asked,-- and personal experiences shared with one another –ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS!!! And needless to say—we were defiantly getting QUITE A LOT of USS shoppers attention with this presentation—and just may have picked up a few more possible future members for us here in Region 6! 😊 Thanks to all who passed out the business cards and informational flyers to interested folks in the store as well! 😊 As I have mentioned in many past posts here concerning our Georgia Region 6 monthly meetings, we are so VERY BLESSED to have such GREAT active members and participants. All of our members are an “exceptional wealth of knowledge” and are “true experts” on a very wide variety of preparedness topics – BAR NONE! It's YOU--Region 6 members-- that make our monthly meetings what they are! THANK-YOU! We all have been TRULY BLESSED to have such a WONDERFUL place here at Uncle Sam’s Surplus to hold our monthly meetings! The staff at USS have always provided EXCELLENT SUPPORT for our SEPN Georgia Region 6 meetings. They have gone “above and beyond the call of duty” to assist us in any way concerning our meeting needs with any equipment or class presentation items in their stock for our use! They are without a doubt #1 in customer service! A BIG THANK-YOU goes out to Alex, Shelby, Nick, Clint, John--and the rest of the USS crew for your continued support of us and our monthly meetings. YOU ALL ARE AWESOME! Be sure to continue to watch here in Region 6 concerning all of our future happenings! Please consider joining us for our November 22nd meeting as this one will be our last scheduled monthly meeting for 2025!! Don’t you worry!!—We plan on “kicking the tires and lighting the fires” again for us here in Regions 6 for 2026 at our monthly January meeting on the 24th! And as always, we’ve defiantly got plenty of chairs, coffee,--and GREAT FELLOWSHIP for all to enjoy! Plan on joining us here at USS in November!! General Prepping Discussion / Just Sharing« Last post by BennyMG1 on October 30, 2025, 03:58:50 PM » I was talking to Rascal the other day and was telling him a story that my great uncle had told me about some interesting things he did during WW2. I made the comment that it’s a shame he never wrote those stories down and that they will probably be lost forever in one more generation of our family. The more I thought about that, the more it bothered me and so I got to thinking. Maybe I should write them down. Then I thought, maybe I’ll just write down stuff from my life, so my kids can share with theirs and so on.
So I’m writing about my prepping and the reasons I started and progression with it. Of course I was thinking about when I ran across the APN and then GPN. I was thinking about that first campout I went to a Hard Labor Creek State Park and how Rascal and I were welcomed with open arms. I had only been prepping for about two years at that point and still had a lot to learn. Over the following years, GPN transitioned to SEPN. I enjoyed many campouts and made some great friends. As I was thinking about all this, I realized that, without this community, I don’t think I would have kept prepping. I had pressure from a spouse that was adamantly against prepping. Many of you remember that. Thank you all for being such a supportive community. I’m still learning new things about prepping all the time, but am fortunate enough to now be one of those helping others get started. 4

Nearly 42 million recipients could lose their benefits as the federal shutdown continues. Funding for October was distributed to states before the shutdown began on October 1, but unless Congress restores appropriations, benefits will stop being issued on November 1.

Homesteading / Re: Free trampolines« Last post by Fixit on October 24, 2025, 07:30:52 PM »I have one that I moved and put back together. Put 2x4 fencing under the legs and on the outside of the legs with a doorway. Used metal roofing attached to the top . It sits in an open area as a goose pen Feed them at closing time and they go right in

Homesteading / Free trampolines« Last post by Lilburner on October 24, 2025, 06:53:06 PM »If you spend any time on Marketplace, you know free trampilines abound. I maintain there's at least one a day on my free stuff finder.
I've always thought one would be handy, but never spent any time chasing one down yet. One found me today. The reason it's under homesteading is all the stuff a trampoline is made of. Namely tube steel, lots of springs, and a super heavy duty round tarp. I've already got some legs committed to making a mount fo a mini split for my bunker. And the round tarp I'm going to use as a generator cover, which by happy circumstance is being mounted on a surplus round wood wire spool. So just food for thought. Next time you see free trampolines, there's a lot of opportunity there. By the time you get two or three, you can get into building structures - livestock pens, greenhouses... 9
